Hancock

Disaster..

It’s really a major leap in Will’s career as an
influential black actor who can penetrate in Hollywood by reputation
and connection.

Very ambitious. You can see a kid trying to
spoof superman with a Jerry Maguire formula which must  only replace
Jason Bateman with Ben Affleck or Andy Garcia (or Kevin Spacey) and
this will surely hit w/o the  superhero effect but about a celebrity
turned vagabond who was believed to be dead long ago because his wife
had a selective amnesia(just recalled the bad times or hatred towards
her former husband) then married another guy who should be the "agent"
like Tom with Cuba in Jerry Maguire.

Having Charlize Theron in
tow with a major flying role in a dramatic stance upstaging Gwyneth’s
appearance in Ironman due to her barely there performance makes this
movie wrong for a superhero flick. I mean it’s like saying that she’s
actually doing a role that is more powerful and effective than Storm in
X-men portrayed by Halle Berry which can make you think she and Will
Smith are actually thinking of Oscar or Golden Globe awards in this
movie after having starred in Aeon Flux (major flop) and I am Legend
respectively ( another Will’s movie thinking he did it like "A
beautiful Mind" by Russel Crowe so he deserved more than  Saturn
award)..There is a scene in the hospital where Charlize being wounded ,
acted like the alpha female in I am legend..(with a notion "I won an
award for Monster so I have to do close-up acting")..I also wondered why she showed up wearing make up in I-just-woke-up
look(like Jennifer garner in 13 Going 30) and lingerie with boots &
Trinity’s leather coat..it’s like she’s about to seduce Hancock to
imply what hes’ been missing all these years, she reminded me of Jean
Grey’s playing the ultimate bitch in The Last Stand wearing that red
leather coat and botoxed face with Wolverine’s waxy back in the
climax…. but what’s with the hero-villain combat which was exuberant
& arrogant. I think thats the major spectacle  of this movie to
topple Superman & Ursa battle in modern times to indicate there’s a
big explosion in the trailer that can make you think there’s a super
villain who can also fly and strike like Hancock even there’s no worthy
freaks to fight and fly for except the Hook..haha.

This is
actually a mindless movie trying to save people with a reckless drunken
butt-naked superhero then improved (bullet-proof)Jamie Foxx costume  in
Stealth or The Green Lantern in Justice League with a sarcastic "Good
Job!" one-liner..(maybe doing it after his nude scene in I, Robot and
that infamous "The sexiest part of my body is my Pen.."
interview..haha) but implying how American could be insensitive in the
long run. being sarcastic that there’s no free product in this world or
else they have to ruin buildings and landmarks  that no one has the
right to complain..with the idea that superhero must be wounded by any
slightest reason of being emotional..(funny coz there’s no cosmic
effect about that "the world will consume your power if I get close to
you" so you have to fly away… while they already engaged in a raging
battle w/o being weak and wounded by that bone-cracking vehicle
crashing through.. maybe anger is not included but only love as a sign
of emotion….how selective) so the mortal villains could appear ending
this movie dramatically.

I believe this could be an acting vehicle for Will & Charlize if
they just did a movie about estranged couple separated by
circumstances. Maybe Will would appear as the husband who was believed
to be dead long ago, then had an amnesia ,then Charlize saw him, now
married to another guy, then took a battle in  court to claim his old
identity and nullify her marriage with the new husband..so it could be
thriller-drama giving best supporting role for Jason Bateman as well if
he did  "A Perfect Murder" schemes…

Hancock is more graphical, lively, moving and explosive than I am
Legend. The former might be very expensive in using elaborate backdrop
(abandoned skyscrapers and mid- shattered bridge making New York City a big junk factory to give Wall-E an enjoyable cleaning grounds )and multiple Alpha
Male like Nomak in Blade II, but it was boring, dramatic, static,  and
pale, just like a documentary film about human extinction in compare
to  Da Vinci Code which was more arousing and arresting if that’s
factual. The female versions,  Resident Evil: Extinction & Doomsday
were more entertaining. I think Will used Hancock as an extension of
his hang over by I am Legend after he won Saturn Award thinking he
might win Academy/Golden Globe/BAFTA/Actors’ Guild Award/s for this superhero
movie which must be very ambitious and obnoxious unless he did  Jerry
Maguire or A Beautiful Mind.  If Superman is cold and hard (robotic) as
Brandon Routh projected, Hancock is weak and clumsy (emotional).
